JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION (JUNE 19, 1865)
Juneteenth is an annual holiday observing the end of slavery in the U.S. and marks the day (June 19, 1865) when news of emancipation reached people in the deepest parts of the former Confederacy in Galveston, Texas. On that day Union general Gordon Granger read federal orders in Galveston, Texas, that all previously enslaved people in Texas were free.
The holiday received its name by combining June and 19. The day is also sometimes called “Juneteenth Independence Day,” “Freedom Day” or “Emancipation Day.”
JUNETEENTH TAROT SPREAD
This tarot spread was created to celebrate and our freedom as people of color. This month has been overwhelming to say the least; but taking the time to celebrate this special holiday would be a nice release from the madness that has been taking place. Today celebrate your personal freedom and break free from any constraints that are unjust or no longer serving your highest and greatest good. Ask the ancestors for the power and courage to endure.
What can I do to set myself free mentally?
What can I do to set myself free emotionally?
What can I do to set myself free spiritually?
